Getting started
What is Service Blue?
Service Blue is an AI phone receptionist and back-office helper built for home- and field-service businesses like plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, and cleaning. Blue answers your calls as your business, takes down the caller's name, number, and what they need, and sends it straight to you. On the Full Office plan it also runs the back office: invoices, money tracking, documents, your crew, and jobs. It's made and run by Business Guy LLC.
Can I hear it before I pay anything?
Yes. Call the free live demo at (912) 888-7773, or go to the Service Blue homepage, enter your business name and cell number, and call the number it gives you from that same phone. Blue answers as your business, so you hear exactly how it sounds. It's free, and we never call you.
How do I get started?
The live demo is free to try. Paid service starts when you activate a plan — there's no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime or pause for $5 a month. To set up, add your business name, hours, services, and prices, pick your plan on the pricing page, and you're answering calls in a few minutes.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes. You add your business name, your hours, the services you offer, and your prices. That's what Blue uses to answer as your business, so the more you give it, the better it sounds. Then it starts answering.
Do I need special equipment or a new app just to get calls answered?
No. Service Blue works with a phone number, not a new handset. Blue answers the calls and sends you each lead in the app and by email, so you don't need anything new in your hand to catch the work.
Your phone number
Do I get a new number, or can I keep my own?
Your choice. You can get a new local number in your area code, or keep the number your customers already know and forward it to Blue. Either way, the line is yours.
How does "keep my number" work?
You set up call forwarding on your existing line so calls ring through to Blue. Service Blue shows you the exact forwarding code for your carrier during setup, and there's a "Test my forwarding" check in your settings so you can confirm it's working before you rely on it.
Is the phone line really mine?
Two cases. If you keep your own existing number, that number stays yours. If we set you up with a new number, it's a dedicated line for your business, not shared with anyone else, provided for use with the service (the details are in our Terms).
How Blue answers your calls
What exactly does Blue do on a call?
Blue answers as your business, lets the caller know it's an automated assistant and that the call may be recorded, then gets their name, number, and what they need. It can set the appointment and send a calendar link, and it sends you the lead the moment the call ends, so a job that came in while your hands were full is waiting for you, not lost.
Will it sound like my business, or like a call center?
Like your business. Blue answers with your name and what you do, your brand to your customers, not a generic "you've reached a call center" script.
Does Blue answer around the clock?
Yes, day, night, and weekends. The calls you miss most are the ones that come in while you're on the tools or off the clock, and those are exactly the ones Blue is there for.
Can Blue book appointments?
Yes. Blue can set the appointment during the call and send a calendar link, so the job is on the books before you've wiped your hands.
How do I get the leads Blue captures?
Two ways, the moment the call ends: in the app and by email. Each lead has the caller's name, number, and the job, in one place you can act on.
Will callers know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. Blue discloses up front that it's an automated assistant and that the call may be recorded. Being honest with callers is built in.
The back office
What's the "back office," and what's in Full Office?
Full Office is everything in Receptionist, plus the tools to run the rest of the business:
- Invoices and who owes you
- Expenses, profit, and money tracking
- Business documents (license, bond, and insurance)
- Your crew roster, with jobs and dispatch
- A tech app with per-tech job links
On Full Office, one call can move from answered to scheduled to invoiced — those later steps are yours to turn on and do, not something that happens to every call automatically.
Does Service Blue take my customers' payments?
No. Service Blue helps you send invoices and keep track of who's paid and who still owes you, but it doesn't collect or process the payment itself. Your customers pay you directly, the same way they do now. It never runs payroll and never does your taxes.
Can my techs use it out in the field?
Yes, on Full Office. There's a tech app plus per-tech job links, so the people doing the work can see their jobs without you relaying everything by phone.
C.A.R.L. & subcontractors
What is C.A.R.L.?
C.A.R.L. is for coordinating many contractors across projects from one place. You pay for it, and your subcontractors join free. It's a separate plan from the office plans, built for operators who run work across a lot of subs.
Does C.A.R.L. call or manage my subcontractors for me?
No. C.A.R.L. doesn't call your subs or manage them for you. It's the dashboard where you assign your subs to jobs and keep track of their rates, who's available, and what each one is good at. You decide who goes where, and you confirm every assignment, so you stay the boss.
Pricing & billing
How much does it cost?
Three plans, real prices, no "call for a quote":
- Receptionist — $50/week ($200/month): Blue answers, takes down the caller's details, and sends them to you.
- Full Office — $125/week ($500/month): everything in Receptionist, plus the back office and dispatch tools.
- C.A.R.L. — $250/week ($1,000/month): coordinate many contractors from one place.
You can pay weekly, monthly, or yearly, and paying for the year up front is discounted (Receptionist $180/month, Full Office $450/month, C.A.R.L. $900/month, billed annually). Every plan also includes a generous block of talk minutes each month — the pricing page has the specifics.
Is there a contract?
No contracts. Cancel anytime.
What about the slow season, can I pause?
Yes. Pause anytime for $5/month. Blue stops answering, so there's no per-call cost, you keep your number and everything in your account, and you switch back on whenever you're ready, with no time limit.
How do I cancel?
Email help@serviceblue.app. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and that period isn't refunded, so you keep access until it ends.
Does it connect to my other software, like QuickBooks or my CRM?
Service Blue doesn't automatically connect to outside tools like QuickBooks or a CRM today. If a connection matters for your setup, email help@serviceblue.app and we'll tell you honestly what's possible — we won't assume it works.
Privacy, recording & texts
Are calls recorded?
Yes, and callers are told up front. Blue discloses that the call may be recorded at the start of the call. You can read the details in our Terms.
Am I allowed to record my customers' calls?
Blue tells every caller up front that the call may be recorded, and that disclosure is how recording consent is usually handled. Recording rules do vary by state — some ask that everyone on the call agree — so follow the rules where you work; the upfront disclosure is built in to help. If you're not sure about your state, check a local source before you rely on it.
Do you sell my information, or my customers'?
No. Your data is yours. SMS opt-in information is never sold or shared with third parties for promotional purposes, and you can read exactly what we collect and why in our Privacy Policy.
How do the text messages work, and how do I stop them?
For any text program, reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help at any time. Message and data rates may apply.
Staying in control
Can I still answer my own phone and jump in?
Always. It's your phone and your business. You can take calls yourself, pause Blue, or keep your number, you're never locked out of your own line.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your business and customer data is yours. You can export it on request, and when you cancel you can ask us to delete it, aside from records we have to keep by law. It's spelled out in our Terms and Privacy Policy.
What if Blue gets something wrong on a call?
You see every lead Blue captures, so nothing happens behind your back. For a call that needs real negotiation or a delicate judgment call, you can ring the customer back yourself. If something's off, tell us at help@serviceblue.app and we'll help you tune it.
How do I get help from a real person?
Email help@serviceblue.app or call (912) 912-7484. That reaches Service Blue support, which is a different line from the (912) 888-7773 demo.
Ready to hear it?
